Não é minna praia.

Translation: “Not my kind of beach”, or as we say in the UK: “Not my cup of tea”.

Thanks to Philippa for brining this Portuguese saying to my attention, although I don’t think I fully get it. Growing up in a land-locked city, better known for its rain I have yet to meet a beach I didn’t like.

I’ve been making the most of the many beaches in and around Recife since landing. Every morning where possible I’ve donned my trainers (sneakers for the Americans), and hit the beach. It’s a rare treat and one I’m planning to make the most of while I’m here.

6.30am, Monday morning, Porto de Galinhas:

Porto de Galinhas Run

And just before the rain:

Rainbow Over Porto de Galinhas.
